Tucked away in the Lumberyard Music Hall are the best music lessons around town. Since 1999, when Bastrop Academy of Music first opened, Jeff and Jane have been making their community musical. Teaching children to play music and sing is at the heart of what we do, and to us, there’s no better feeling than watching our students shine. That's why we offer personalized lessons as well as a recital hall, so you can share all of your hard work with the world. From Bach to rock and beyond, no matter the genre, we’re incredibly excited to share our love of music with you and your family.
The Student Orchestra has been in place for two years now and is for beginning string students. Mary Kay Schultz founded the group and composes and or arranges all the music for the student Orchestra to fit specific skill requirements. Students of the Bastrop Academy of Music as well as other students in the community make up this group. The group regularly performs in conjunction with the Bastrop Community Chorus and Orchestra.
